Plastic surgery cost varies from one procedure to another but one thing is for sure, it does not come cheap. When you have undergone a surgery you might be surprised paying more than what was quoted to you. This is because some charges are not discussed prior to the surgery but are charged towards your bill. Some common surgeries that are offered such as weight loss surgeries often come in a flat all- inclusive rate but then most of these rates does not include testing fees as well recovery fees. Charges start from the consultation. When you sit down with the surgeon and discuss the procedures you want, the meter stars running. For them to properly assess your health condition, they will have to perform or order testing procedures which may include blood tests, stress tests, and other tests which the doctor thinks is needed. This is again another charge you need to take care of.
Charges common charges during the surgery includes operating room fee, physicians fee, OR staff fee, and medications. Operating room charge covers the sterilization and use of instrument, use of anesthesia machine, cleaning of the room after the procedure, and other things used while in the operating room. The physician’s fee would depend on how many doctors are present during the surgery. For common procedures it usually requires 2 doctors. Each of the doctors will bill you for their fees.
After the procedure charges will include recovery room, an area where you bill be brought to immediately after the surgery. In this area you will be monitored until the effects of anesthesia will start to wear off. If you will need to stay in the hospital, there will be charges for the room and other facilities you will use during your stay.
Lastly, adding to the cost for plastic surgery is the post operative consultation or a visit to your physician after the surgery. If you really want to be beautiful through plastic surgery, then that’s what you’ll have to pay for.
