Thigh Liposuction Turns Back The Clock On Older Looking Legs

Many women with fat deposits on their thighs that resist all efforts to shrink are choosing have thigh liposuction performed.  Before making that decision for yourself you should find out if you will be good candidate for this procedure.  You may also wish to learn about the details of the procedure which will help you make a good decision about whether or not thigh liposuction is for you.

A thigh liposuction is done to get rid of fat deposits, which are called cellulite, from the thigh.  Cellulite is the kind of fat that deposits in the connective tissues of the skin making the skin look as if it is pocked or dimpled.  Cellulite can look like wrinkles, dimples and pockmarks on your thighs and is generally considered quite unattractive.  Most women and men find that cellulite is a type of fat that is not easily removed using diet and exercise.

Many women will find that they are more susceptible to cellulite than men because of their skin structure.  And you don’t necessarily need to be considered ‘fat’ to develop cellulite.  Even thin women have been known to develop visible cellulite on their thighs and other body parts.

Thigh cellulite can be extremely frustrating and depressing.  The cellulite will often rub more against clothing and thighs even making them sore for some people.  Perhaps most troubling to some is that the cellulite ruins the aesthetic appearance of your thighs.  Some women will even go as far as to stop wearing shorts and swimsuits once cellulite appears.  Especially for these women the best solution is to undergo thigh liposuction surgery.

You’ll find that thigh liposuction is similar to any other liposuction.  The liposuction doctor makes small cuts in the skin and a thin tube, called a cannula, is inserted into each cuts. The cannula is then manipulated under the skin to vacuum the fat deposits from the thigh, making it appear smoother. It is possible that some imperfections could develop when undergoing thigh liposuction, this will often depend on the experience and skill of the liposuction doctor who performs the procedure.  Smaller sized cannulas can be used In an effort to keep irregularities to a minimum, however even these smaller tubes can cause imperfections if there is excessive tissue damage.

Not all people are good candidates for thigh liposuction.  Those who have inelastic skin due to age or other reasons may not get all the benefits of a thigh liposuction like those with more elastic skin will. When the skin becomes inelastic you can make the cellulite worse by performing liposuction causing skin wrinkling and sagging.  If you have sagging or loose skin or you’re an older patient you should consider an alternative to thigh liposuction to avoid making your condition worse.

One positive aspect of thigh liposuction is that the recovery and healing process are very quick. You may experience bruising, swelling and pain for a few days and up to two weeks, but this is easily managed with Advil or similar pain medicines.  You should also use a compression garment to minimize the swelling which will make your recovery faster.  You should begin to see improvements once the swelling subsides, however it might take as long as six months to see the complete effect of the liposuction procedure.
