Hair Implants Give You A New Head Of Hair
If you are suffering from thinning or balding hair then there are some important facts you should know. The only way you can effectively treat this problem is if you make good choices about which remedies and treatments to use. And the only way to make those good choices is to understand what causes the baldness and what can be done about it.
One of the best treatments if you have a completely bald or nearly bald spot on your head is to have hair implants done. The reason for this will become apparent quickly. The vast majority of men who lose their hair do so because of a genetic condition called androgenic alopecia. The common name for this ailment is male pattern baldness. Men who have this condition show hair loss on certain areas of their heads, usually the loss will be above the forehead at the hair line or the spot on the crown of the head. The mechanism which causes the hair loss is well known. A natural substance in the body bonds with the hair roots in these areas and causes them to stop producing hair shaft material. The hairs get thinner and thinner until they either turn wispy and fall out or they break off at the scalp line. After this happens the hair follicles are no longer able to produce keratin, the hair shaft material, so they must be replaced if you want hair growing on your head again.
This is where the hair implant procedure comes in. The hair at the back of the head, the posterior area, is not affected by this medical ailment so these follicles continue to be healthy. When the hair implantation surgery is performed the surgeon will remove living follicles from this area and then implant them into the bald spot. Within a few weeks these transplanted hairs start to connect to the surrounding blood supply and soon after they start producing keratin. Within months you will see good hair growth in the balding area once again.
