Surgically Remove Gynecomastia With Liposuction

Any guy who has the misfortune of having fat deposits on his chest is very aware of the psychological issues that come with gynecomastia.  The condition can totally rid a man of self-confidence and self-esteem instantly.  It can also be said to take away some of the most common daily activities, such as swimming, sunbathing and sauna use.  With this being the case, many of the men who have gynecomastia try a variety of methods to get rid of this terrible problem.  Minor cases of gynecomastia are in many cases treated surgically with liposuction.  You should know though that gynecomastia liposuction is not always the simple cure it is painted as.  Lipo has both disadvantages and advantages described in more detail below.

Arguably the biggest advantage of liposuction for gynecomastia over other treatments is the time factor.  You can be rid of excess chest fat in as few as a 2 short hours.  You get to see almost instant results without the nerve racking wait to see if this treatment will work.  While exercise and hormonal treatments can mean several months of waiting to see if they are working, gynecomastia liposuction provides you with instant results you can measure and see.

While all that may be true, gynecomastia liposuction has a few disadvantages as well.  The major disadvantage is the pain involved.  Since this is a surgical procedure and cutting into the skin is required, some amount of pain is unavoidable.  In most cases, your doctor will recommend a recovery lasting anywhere from two to five days, depending on severity of your gynecomastia.  If your lifestyle is active, you will be required to slow down for a minimum of one week while healing.

When men with major gynecomastia problems are surgically treated with liposuction, problems will occassionally come up.  Scarring is a common problem and will often require a 2nd operation to fix.  Even if a 2nd operation is not necessary, obvious scars are often left behind.

Liposuction for gynecomastia can cause uneven body contours for some men.  This happens because each side of the chest is necessarily treated separately.  So, there is a fairly high occurrence of small differences in the contours of each side of the chest.

Cost is another factor you need to be aware of when considering liposuction for gynecomastia.  Gynecomastia liposuction can be expensive.  The cost of just one surgery can range from 2 to 4 thousand bucks.  And when second surgery becomes necessary because of complications, the costs can be doubled.  In most cases your insurance will not cover these costs either unless the treating doctor can prove to them that the surgery was required for medical reasons.

To recap, while it offers a quick solution, gynecomastia liposuction can be both expensive and dangerous.  And yet, many men choose to have the surgery anyway.  In the case of gynecomastia the benefits from having the surgery often outweigh the risks.

When people with chronic cases of gynecomastia are surgically treated with liposuction, problems can and do arise.
