Breast Augmentation Recovery Information
Many women considering breast augmentation surgery are concerned with the amount of time that the recovery period is going to take and how bad the post surgery recovery is going to be. This is certainly justifiable and understandable as in many cases the women are taking time off from their primary job to have the surgery or have family obligations that will require them to be functional again in the shortest amount of time possible.
Breast Augmentation Recovery
In most cases a woman can expect to be down for the count for a bare minimum of a few days after the surgery with limited activity being possible in the days after that. The first few days require minimal activity other than frequent short walks to keep the blood clots at bay and the circulation flowing.
Typically after 3 to 4 days post surgery, most women can function with moderate normalcy. It is still expected that they keep the activity light and restricted from doing a few things like lifting too much weight or raising their hands over their head.
Once you make it into the 2nd week post surgery then activity starts to return to normal and then gets better and better from week 3 moving forward, assuming no serious complications arise from the surgery. Again I can’t stress enough that all women are different and the issues I am raising are general guidelines for most women.
Breast Augmentation Recovery Symptoms
Some of the most common symptoms that you can expect to encounter in the days following surgery are, of course, soreness and swelling around the breast area. Nausea can be an issue with some women as the anasthesia works its way out of your system and then swelling around the implants will require that you keep an ice compress on the breasts for the first 48 hours post surgery.
The bottom line for most women is that most will be able to undergo this surgery and the breast augmentation recovery time will allow them to be back to work or up and functioning with restrictions within a week so it can be fit into a typical week’s worth of vacation time. Good news for those considering breast augmentation surgery.
